Povestea eroului cu chitara, El Mariachi, continua cu o noua aventura in „Once Upon A Time in Mexico”. O aventura pe fundalul unei revolutii, in vremuri de razbunare si lacomie atroce.
Ranit, haituit si inspaimantat de o tragedie, El Mariachi s-a retras in liniste, departe de lume. E fortat sa iasa din ascunzatoare atunci cand Sands (Johnny Depp), un agent CIA corupt, il recruteaza pentru a dejuca un complot ce vizeaza presedintele Mexicului. De aceasta data „raii” sunt cei din Cartelul lui Barillo (Willem Dafoe).
Pe langa angajament, El Mariachi are propriile motive sa se intoarca, ce tin de razbunare.
El Mariachi revine, alaturi de doi prieteni, Lorenzo (Enrique Iglesias) si Fideo (Marco Leonardi). Iar legenda lui atinge noi culmi de pasiune si aventura palpitanta.
